Thor Offshore Wind Farm – A Key Step Towards Green Energy

Thor Offshore Wind Farm will become Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm with a capacity of 1,000 MW. It is being constructed approximately 22 km off the coast of Thorsminde on the west coast of Jutland and, once completed by the end of 2027, will be able to supply green electricity to more than one million Danish households.

The project is being developed by the energy company RWE and will include a total of 72 Siemens Gamesa offshore wind turbines. Welcon is contributing to the project by delivering a significant portion of the steel towers that will support the powerful turbines.

Production of the towers will begin in the summer of 2025 at our factory in Give, Denmark. The towers will be manufactured based on our many years of expertise and high quality standards. We are proud of this. Our contribution not only highlights world-class Danish industrial craftsmanship, but also the central role we play in the green transition.
