WELCON has entered into partnership with Stiesdal® to manufacture components for their different technologies e.g., Offshore Floating Foundations and Pressure Vessels for Energy Storage.

WELCON is expanding the production facilities for Offshore towers in Give and building new facilities in both Taiwan and in the United States. Together with the Canadian partner Marmen WELCON will be the first tower manufacturer to produce offshore towers in the United States.

From the office in Give, you will become an important part of an engaged Technology Transfer / Project Department. With you on the team we will be 5 persons and you will report to Head of Projects Rune Ørnfeld Holm.

The job

As Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the project team for the next Stiesdal floating foundation. The project is a prototype project, where all processes, tooling and equipment needs to be developed prior to start of production. You will be a part of the mechanical team related to specification, design and development of all new tools and equipment to be used to produce the prototype.

We are looking for an experienced, talented, innovative and dedicated Mechanical Engineer, who can prioritize and manage several tasks simultaneously and thrive with a big responsibility. You are a team player, open to cross functional dialogues and contribute to a positive work environment.

We are looking for the following candidate:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical engineering with 3-5 years of experience within design of machines, equipment, or steel structures
  • Experienced user in SolidWorks: 3D modelling, 2D drawings, GPS and general drawing methodologies
  • Good in communication towards Calculation, production, project management and suppliers/customers
  • Experience and practical understanding of manufacturing, testing and assembly processes such as Bending, welding, machining, and bolt connections
  • Experience within documentation: E.g., writing requirements specifications, scope of work, technical dossiers
  • Experience with design in accordance with the machinery directive and other relevant norms and standards
  • Knowledge of FEA calculations and ability to do preliminary dimensioning of e.g., bolts and welds
  • Knowledge of interface to hydraulic or electrical components
