WELCON A/S has entered a partnership with Stiesdal® to manufacture components for their different technologies e.g., Offshore Floating Foundations and Pressure Vessels for Energy Storage.

WELCON A/S is expanding the production facilities for Offshore towers in Give and building new facilities in both Taiwan and in the United States. Together with the Canadian partner Marmen WELCON A/S will be the first tower manufacturer to produce offshore towers in the United States.

From the office in Give, you will become an important part of an engaged Technology Transfer / Project Department. With you on the team we will be 5 persons and you will report to Head of Projects Rune Ørnfeld Holm.

The job

As Mechanical Engineer specialized in Calculation, you will be part of the project team for the next Stiesdal floating foundation. The project is a prototype project, where all processes, tooling and equipment needs to be developed prior to start of production. You will be responsible for all modelling and calculation related to new tools and equipment used in the production of the prototype. Furthermore, you should have an interest in doing 3D CAD design on equipment and tools, as this will be a part of the role.

We are looking for an experienced, talented, and dedicated Engineer specialized in Calculation, who can prioritize and manage several tasks simultaneously and thrive with a big responsibility. You are a team player, open to cross functional dialogues and contribute to a positive work environment.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • Solid experience (4-6years) within FEA/FEM, structural calculations fatigue analysis and evaluation of results, all in ANSYS
  • Experience with SolidWorks, CAD modelling and design optimization
  • Experience with 2D drawings for production with knowledge about GPS tolerances and dimensioning
  • Experience in communication with the design team, project management, production and 3rd party certifiers
  • Experience with FEA simulation verification and validation methodologies acc. Relevant norms and standards
  • Experience with documentation: e.g. Calculation reports, requirements specifications, presentation of results
  • Preferably, knowledge of manufacturing processes, calculation of large steel structures and lifting equipment
  • Scoped tasks and estimated time for calculation projects
  • Fluent Danish and English speak and writing skills
