Occupational health and safety and environmental issues are fixed points on the agenda at Skykon Towers in Give. On the basis of our stated policy for occupational health and safety and the environment, we work continuously to maintain the highest possible internal and external levels of safety, and to minimise the impact of our business on the environment.

Occupational health and safety

In accordance with Danish legislation, we have our own internal safety organisation. The organisation is made up of representatives of the senior management, middle managers and staff, including a shop steward elected by the employees.

At least four times a year, the organisation reviews safety in different areas of the factory, involving different groups of employees. The purpose of these reviews is to ensure that all occupational health and safety regulations are up-to-date and that they are being followed. During each review, a list is also prepared of suggestions for improvements in the field of health, safety and the working environment.

Energy

We own three wind turbines that have been erected on the company’s premises. The three turbines have a combined capacity of 2,150 kW and generate approximately 3,000,000 kWh annually. This means that we use clean wind power to cover around 90 per cent of our own energy consumption.

Waste management

Skykon Towers in Give practises an efficient waste sorting system and generally ensures that it produces only a minimum of waste. We only use waste reception stations that are qualified to dispose of the specific type(s) of refuse in question. At the same time, we regularly check to make sure that all the waste collection companies we work with abide by the applicable legislation.
